6"mMAGNETIC PAGES: Displayer V1.30 Help
There are several pages of help
information. Use the NEXT and PREV
buttons at the bottom of this help
window to move back and forth between
it's pages. Use the EXIT button to
return to the magazine.
Note that these Help pages are for
use with Amy PD and Shareware Review
and are a slighty modified version of
the normal Magnetic Pages help file.
Other magazines produced with Magnetic
Pages may operate in a slightly
different way. CDR - CyberCraft.
Terminology
Page...
There are two distinct types
- the Text Page and the Graphics Page.
A Text Page can contain text, graphics
and buttons while a Graphics Page has
just a picture. The buttons let you
move to other pages and articles,
and perhaps start music or animations.
Contents Page...
The second page in
Amy PD Review which allows you to
branch to it's different sections and
articles.
Article...
A group of one or more
pages loaded from disk together.
Moving Around the Magazine
You can move around the magazine
by using the menu options, the
keyboard or by clicking on the
buttons on the right side of the menu
bar. Note that on a Graphics Page
there are no menu bar buttons so you
must use the menus or the keyboard.

Index Buttons
In the bottom right-hand corner of
each text page of Amy PD Review is a
button that looks like a jagged arrow
which when clicked on will take you to
the index of the magazine. This is so
you may move quickly from one article
to another without needing to go first
to the (rather slow) Contents page.
Printing
There are two printing modes
available.
Text Only...
This allows you to
print just the text from a page. All
graphics will be ignored.
Graphics Dump...
This will print the
whole page including all text and
graphics.
When printing in 'Text Only' mode
two pages of the magazine will usually
fit on a single sheet of paper.
However on some printers this won't be
possible. The '2 Pages/Single Sheet'
option gives you the choice of
printing one or two pages per single
sheet of paper.
Note that when you are printing a
whole article or the entire magazine
printing will always begin with the
page you are currently on. This means
that if you have to abort printing
part way through you can resume from
where you left off.
Saving Text
You can save the text from a page
or article as a standard ASCII file.
You can then load this file into a
Text Editor or Word Processor.
Saving Graphics
You can save a page as an IFF
picture. You can then load this
picture into a paint program such as
Deluxe Paint.
Text Search
This command allows you to search
the magazine for a particular word or
sentence. You can choose to search
the current page, article or the
entire magazine. The 'Case Sensitive'
option allows you to distinguish
between upper and lowercase charact-
ers. Note that the Section option is
not really relevant to Amy PD Review
due to the way the magazine has been
structured.
Sleep
Allows you to free almost all
memory used by the magazine. A small
window will be displayed in the top
right corner of the Workbench
screen. To return to the magazine
click in this window once with the
left mouse button and then once with
the right button.
